Advanced Training 2026

Recommended prerequisites: Core Training.

The Judges Training unit is a 7 ½ hour course conducted over 3 evenings.

The purpose of the course is to continue the professional development of photography judges. 

The course is also suitable for those wanting to improve their understanding of image critiquing.

Topics covered include:

• Judging of different photographic genres.
• Aspects of Aesthetics.
• Topics such as :
  • bias
  • coaching while giving feedback
  • issues that are raised within the Judging community e.g. AI in photography
• Judging methods including remote judging
• The use of various club judging software.
